  1. You need the carbs. You are at the point where you need to carbo load before or during one of your extreme bike rides. The way you are exercising and losing so much weight, you are in danger of suffering ketoacidosis. This happens to diabetics like me and athletes. It can be severe enough to require hospitalization and can even be fatal.
