The club name rang a bell; the club didn’t! They’re all becoming such a blur though as we’re out so much just lately! So this was Beechwood and Easterside. We played it a few years ago. I was fat back then, with a wispy and rather pointless beard; definitely nowhere near as distinguished! As thisContinue reading “Gig 2 : Beechwood and Easterside”

Musings and piercings.
So Mrs Loons is buying me three new earrings for Christmas, in the style of the three inner planets. Now that set me thinking, and as someone who has always been a fan of ear piercings and has always wanted a sizeable number up each ear, I think I have a plan. Hear me out…Continue reading “Musings and piercings.”
Of confusing gigs and floods
Yesterday was gig day. I shared a post originally stating that I was playing at North Ormesby Institute. Well as it happens that was not quite right. As it turned out we were actually booked to play North Ormesby WMC, a very different club two miles down the road. We only found this out thenContinue reading “Of confusing gigs and floods”
North Ormesby tonight
After a change in the billed event (which was originally the evil load of Cargo Fleet club) we’ve now been moved to North Ormesby. A much nicer load in and pretty much flat if I remember right, plus there’s food across the road so I can have a pizza if I want. Being back outContinue reading “North Ormesby tonight”
Social Isolation Strangefish
Last night would have been Fortune Retelling at the Met, had the social distancing and social isolation rules not come into play. After much trying and testing of the technology we decided in the end though to go down the route of a web chat. I have to say it went pretty well! Some veryContinue reading “Social Isolation Strangefish”
Finally!
After absolute hell both Belinda and I finally arrived at Dennis’s and we’re now on our way to the gig. Prospected arrival time is 19:58. We’re onstage at 20:40! All this because of solar panels. I wonder how much fuel has been used dealing with a poor installation?
A magnificent photo
R J Forster on Flickr took this. I absolutely love it. Judging by the positions of my hands I think I’m playing the start of “It Could be Me”.
Strangefish at The Robin – some really nice photos
Thanks to Tim Ellis for these beauties.
Fishy Happenings
My third gig with Strangefish last night. It was a long day… I started at 7:30am – I had planned to be at the venue at around 10:30 and with a 2 hour journey ahead I needed to be ready. Freshly showered and breakfasted I set off – only to make much better time thanContinue reading “Fishy Happenings”
Gig the Second
Two in a row is always tiring. The second one was Easington; a small town on the Durham Heritage Coast just north of Middlesbrough. So yet another journey up our favourite dual carriageway, the A19, and a fairly easy ground floor load (with possibly the weirdest load in door) and we were up and running.Continue reading “Gig the Second”
