Platinum Blonde

In readiness for a photoshoot I’ve decided to go platinum blonde, rather than the more yellow blonde I was previously.

This involved re-bleaching, although not for too long – a fact I’m thankful for as the bleach really felt hot and burny on the back of my head (indeed, the price of going blonde is mild chemical burns!)

Here was my first colour – done at the end of December

…and here’s the after pic… taken yesterday

It’s much less yellow than before and looks very natural compared to the sides of my beard. Belinda has mentioned that darkening my beard would work, but I prefer the salt and pepper look.

I went silver

A random comment made a few days ago set me off thinking – I’m very aware that I have male pattern baldness, but someone said if I went white or grey it wouldn’t be as obvious.

Today I booked in at the hairdressers and this happened.

Waiting… Note the jeans!

Before…

Trimmed up and ready to get the treatment.

First layer on. This is the one to strip the original colour out. My hair goes yellow when stripped, bit wait for the end result.

First treatment washed off. See what I mean about the Yellow?

Next… The toner. This is what gives it the silver colour.

And finally… The reveal!

Very platinum. I’ve got to say I really like it, and it’s given me the impression of having more hair than I actually have!
